Sometimes the best decision is to temporarily postpone the treatment to ensure the best possible result.
A skin condition or flare-up in the treatment area
Cold sores (herpes), fungal infection, a flare-up of dermatitis or eczema, inflammatory rash, open wounds, or significant irritation — we wait until the skin has calmed down and fully healed.
Recent tanning / solarium / self-tanner
If your skin has recently been exposed to the sun or you’ve used self-tanner, the risk of irritation, burns, and pigmentation increases.
Medications that can make the skin more sensitive to light
Antibiotics, retinoids, high-dose vitamin C (5000 mg or more), some hormonal medications, and certain dermatological treatments. If you’re taking any medications, please let us know before your visit — we’ll assess together whether it’s best to postpone the procedure.
(Important about antibiotics: after a course of antibiotics, we recommend waiting at least 2 weeks).
Acute illness or fever
If you’re unwell, have a fever, or feel off, we’ll reschedule — it helps your body recover properly.
If you’re not sure whether the procedure is suitable right now, message us before your appointment — we’ll find the safest option together.
