Why doesn’t laser hair removal work in just one session?

Laser hair removal affects only hairs that are in the active growth phase, called the anagen phase. It’s important to know that only a portion of hairs are in this phase at the same time, on average 20–30%.

What happens after the first treatment:

  • some hairs begin to shed within 14–21 days(the laser doesn’t “burn” the hair immediately — it damages the follicle, and the hair is gradually pushed out by the skin. Because of this, it may seem like the hair is growing, while in reality it is shedding)

  • hair growth slows down

  • hairs become finer and softer

  • follicles that were in the resting phase are not yet affected

That’s why laser hair removal is a course of treatments, not a single visit. Each following session targets a new group of hairs in the active growth phase and gradually leads to stable, long-term results.

At Bloom, we always choose an honest and transparent approach!
